Don’t Get Too Close To Her – The Wendigo Effect

inked mood sketch for horror film The Wendigo effect by John Brito

Sometimes, when I write a skript, or when I am planning to re-write something, it helps me when I do some sketches of a character or a scene before I start writing. That way I know already where I want to get to in terms of the mood and the situation the characters are currently going trough before I sit down at the writing table.

While I draw these mood boards, usually a lot of pictures and stories will pop up and when I get to the act of (re-)writing the only thing I have to do is connecting the dots – how the characters get from one scene to another.

Below you can see one of these mood sketches. It is for a horror movie called The Wendigo Effect. I have already written the first draft, but I will have to re-write it, because it was written as a horror animation film and I need to make it more shoot-able as a life action film.

    • Hello Marie, thank you, I’m glad you like it. And she is not a zombie, but she is possesed by a Wendigo, which is a demon from Native North Americans’ folklore. The Wendigo (or witiko) posseses those who are starving and then feast on the flesh of other humans. So it is basically a cannibalistic demon, whose hunger is never satisfied.
